An Evening with Khalil Fong

Last night the boyfriend and I were at Genting to catch Khalil Fong's show. Several friends were surprised that I was even aware of his existence, judging from my preference for English songs. There's no need to be surprised really. He's an ABC and does pretty good covers of some classic English songs. But that's not the main reason why I love Khalil. His songs are really good and the show last night was absolutely fantastic! He did not run out of tune nor run out of breath after singing for 2 hours straight. That's how a true good singer should perform live. I only wished he got his bum off the stage and got closer to his fans.

I was imagining myself as the girl Khalil was singing about in his 'Black and White' song and hence, the dress. I wanted to post a link to the video but it has been removed from Youtube. Go find the video if you want to know what I'm talking about. Btw he looks really cute in that video.

Camwhoring with Khalil's poster outside the arena.

Met Mrs. B who got her concert cherry popped by Khalil. Mr. B bought the show's tickets. LOL!

With the man responsible for introducing me to Khalil's music :)

Khalil Fan Club members getting overly enthusiastic in front of the TV crew's cameras as the show is about to start. To the two guys who were trying to copy Khalil's style: Cut it out. You are nowhere near as good looking as Khalil. Just stick to loving his music. TQVM.

Opening act: I'm sorry to his fans, but I really have no idea who this is. Yes, that is how supportive I am towards the local entertainment industry. Mrs. B tells me his name is Andrew Tan.

The Soulboy finally gets on stage. Shame on those concertgoers who didn't come in on time. Don't you guys realise the show can't be started if you don't come in and find your seats on time? Bloody hell.

Khalil sat down to perform 'Georgia on My Mind'. He told this lame joke which he uses in possibly every country on this tour. I totally expected him to recycle it last night, and he did not disappoint. Click here to watch the video which shows him telling the joke a few days before landing in Malaysia. Now, click here to watch my video of him telling the exact same joke. It's cute, but it would've worked had I not seen the first video before the show. Smelly nerd and chubby gf who sat beside the bf and I were sooooo thrilled when they managed to decipher the joke. Btw the "zhe daooooooo" you hear in the second video is my voice.

Khalil flashing a cheeky grin before running off stage. I love you baby!!!!!!!! Come back soon.

I've uploaded some videos on Youtube. Click on the songs to view some of the highlights from his concert. My favourite was 'Wonderful Tonight'. That's most probably because it was the only song I could sing along to all the lyrics. Watching the videos and listening to his songs after the show just makes my heart grow fonder for Khalil *sigh*

Cats and dogs

Being stranded in a cafe with WiFi and a borrowed Macbook isn't such a bad idea. It would be nice if I had a companion to help look after the laptop while I head to the washroom without having to worry about the laptop being carted away by a scumbag stranger. It's funny how I've been sitting here for the past three hours and have not accomplished the main task that drove me out here in the first place. Well, at least I've checked my emails and done 2% of what I wanted to finish today. I believe it's important to have achieved something than to attempt nothing at all. The rain is pouring and it's getting dark in here. I wished they had proper fluorescent lights on so I don't have to risk going blind after sitting here and staring into the screen for another few more hours.

I just emailed a friend in New Zealand updating her about my abandoned plans due to the recent life-changing decision that Bun and I made. Sometimes I feel like I make too many promises to myself which I'll never fulfill. One of it is New Zealand. New York is another promise which lives in a little corner in my head. I suppose I can plan for a short visit someday. Right now all I can do is dream.

Colours on the horizon

Last weekend was sorta life-changing for Bun and I. We finally signed the papers to our possible first home (I'm saying possible at this point 'cause I don't wanna jinx anything). The house fits most of our requirements but it isn't located in a very central place. That don't really matter 'cause it's central to our work places. I guess it's all for the better since I'll be far away from the evil shopping temptations (sigh!)

The house won't be ready until 2012 and I'm pretty scared about the whole waiting process. You know, all those horror stories by other new house owners about projects being abandoned. I'll try to not fret about things that I cannot control and start looking out for stuff that we need for a new house. There are a million things that we need to buy and it's good to start looking around to know what's the best deal we can get. Now we're moving on to the fun stuff! Imma need to start an inspiration board!! Curse the man who banned me from using pink as the main colour of the house. I won't cook for him once we move in. That'll show him.

We were greeted by a huge rainbow while on the way out after signing the papers. I'm not trying to sound superstitious or universal or whatever, but I do believe this could be a good sign for our new beginning.

We are hunters on the prowl

Bun and I have officially moved a step further in our relationship - We've gone onto the stage where we decided to cohabitate live together and have started a house-hunting rampage. It's definitely not an easy breezy experience and I hope we don't end up tearing each other's face apart anytime soon.

Buying a house is one of the biggest decision in one's life (it goes along with deciding who you want to live with) and should never be a rushed process. There is a whole load of stuff to mull over, including feng shui, cost, location, bla bla bla and I cannot get anymore stressed about this purchase. We have yet to find one place that fits into the 'everything' that we are looking for and I'm slowly dying from stress while searching.

WHY CAN'T WE SKIP TO THE FUN PART WHERE WE SHOP FOR FURNITURE AND DECORATE??????

We probably need a couple of months (or maybe even longer) before we find the right place. I feel so choked up with stress I can barf out right at this minute. I'm trying to de-stress by looking at pretty pictures and dream about how I can decorate our place once we're ready. Keeping my fingers (and toes!) crossed to find a perfect little place soon. Wish us luck.

First we grow up, then we grow old

I sort of chronicled my journey into adulthood on this blog as I started it while in uni and moved on to the working world with my blog in hand. Did not link up to any previous post 'cause I can't stand reading my old rants. Sounds so premature. Bleh! This post obviously adds itself into said rant category 'cause I prolly cannot bear reading through it as time goes. But I can't help myself from typing out my thoughts and then click the 'publish' button.

I guess writing helps get rid of the massive sleepiness I'm having right now. My eyelids are closing as I'm typing. We just moved to a new house over the past weekend and it's been one hell of an experience. I'm tired, sleepy and my body aches all over. There is no way anyone can get me to move ever again. Not with all the furniture and every piece of belonging.

We'll prolly stay here at this new place for just a year. A short remark from my mom got me thinking real hard. It's time for me to get my own place. But the only way for me to move out is to buy an apartment with Mr. Bun. I have no qualms about jumping into the pool with Mr. Bun. Don't get it twisted. It's just the fact that I'm not a big fan of living in apartments. But it doesn't seem like I have much choices since I have not much money.

This year, starting from today, will be my and Mr. Bun's personal journey into familyhood after surviving adulthood for a good couple of years now. We will be taking baby steps, venturing into new horizons that we've never known before, but we know we'll be fine as we have people around us who have made it. Wish us luck! You'll know where we're headed once we have things in black and white.

Spam is bad

I've got spam all around me, and they're not the edible type!! They're the typical spam comments that I bet a lot of blogs get. I'm so sick of getting them here at Hotaspink and I've started to moderate my comments to shield you from them. (You're welcome). I think you guys go through enough torture trying to read all about my whinings and such, so I've concluded that you shouldn't be conned to click on these deceitful 'comments'. Although I have a mild suspicion that Diana Chin might be more than happy to click on those links and chance upon them damn sites with full blown pictures of half-clothed Japanese chicks. You'll never know...

Khalil Fong Live in Malaysia

I nearly died from a happy heart attack this morning when I saw someone talking on Facebook about Khalil Fong coming to town!!!!!!!! I guess I just gave out significant information about my whereabouts on 29th May to my potential stalkers -.-" Why must it be that everytime someone rolls into town, I cannot find anyone sharing an equal enthusiasm as mine? It's either me not having friends who share the same musical tastes, or my frugal boyfriend frowning when I tell him the VIP ticket price. There might be some hope to cut down on costs though, since the concert is going to be at Genting - I may just prove there could be a bright side to gambling away for your fortune after all! For instance, high rollers can redeem free tickets for their kids to watch a concert. If that doesn't work out, I might as well settle for the cheapest tickets, sit at the back row and try my hardest not to mistakenly cheer for the backup guitar player instead of Khalil Fong.

She took my heart

Most people who are close to me will know that I have an obsession for a cartoon character named Pucca. Even my mom knows that I love the damn thing so much! I think I have not told many about the story how I found her and how she became my favourite. It all started about 10 years ago when I had just started to learn how to use the computer and discovered the truly magical wonders of the Internet. My eldest brother taught me how to use Hotmail and ICQ. Soon enough I was making friends from faraway lands via ICQ. It seems funny now that I'm trying to recall those experimental days. 10 years is a very long time for some. I actually forgot the name of the application and had to resort to Google to find out that it was called ICQ. The love affair started with a guy from Canada whom I frequently chatted with. I don't exactly remember his nickname but it probably had something to do with 'fox'. However I do remember that he was quite cute, had blonde hair and had a Chinese girlfriend who migrated there from Hong Kong. I'm not quite sure how he ended up sending me a link to a Pucca flash video but I loved it so much because I had a huge crush on him and I thought it was very sweet. Wherever you may be now, Mr. Fox, just know that you did a great job hooking me up with this adorable Korean chick and I am still happy after all these years. Just imagine how surprised and elated I was when I found out that Pucca is no longer just part of the display in the children's department of a store, she is now a proud member of the high fashion community.

Love strikes Manhattan:

By Virginia Nam, NYC Contributor

In a one-of-a-kind collaboration: Curve, Warner Bros. and eight fashion designers have joined forces to launch limited-edition collections inspired by Pucca, a cheeky Korean character known for chasing kisses from her beau. Pucca made her fashion debut this week at the Curve store in SoHo.

Setting the Scene:

Nevena Borissova, Curve owner, transformed her high-end boutique into its own cartoon world. With DJ Hayley pumping the music and people sipping Pucca-tinis, the atmosphere was light and flirty. People were having a great time, and how could you not at an event that serves alcohol in homage to a cartoon? The decor was amazing: Red hearts covered the walls, giant red lamps hung from the ceiling and Pucca dolls were popping out from every corner.

Gossip Girl Host:

Host of the evening was Gossip Girl, Jessica Szohr, who looked stunning that night. Other guests included Julia Stiles, the Strokes, Caroline Winberg, and Hanna Soukupova.

Szhor said of Pucca, “Pucca is about women empowerment, fashion, love and fun.”

Interpretations of Pucca:

Borissova commissioned eight designers, all from different backgrounds, to create capsule collections for this project, which was funded by Warner Bros. With some direction from Borissova, each designer produced unique pieces from their individual interpretations of Pucca. The results? Absolutely amazing.

My favorite pieces included a raspberry red dress from Preen, bejeweled black jeans from Genetic Denim, shredded shirts from Raquel Allegra and leather utility bags from Not Rational. Other designers who designed for Pucca were Mark Fast, Unconditional, Iro and Scatola.

My favorite interpretation has to be from Raquel Allegra who thought about the “question of love,” according to Borissova, which she interpreted to be, “Does love come to visit you and then it just goes?” The somber mood was definitely reflected in the shredded tees, which were almost fragile in nature (though resilient as well) and had crying hearts hand-painted on them.

I also loved the theme behind Not Rational’s bags, which was “Make Love, Not War.” The depth of which some of these interpretations took is truly impressive.

Beyond mere fun, Pucca served a greater purpose for Borissova and the designers: She injected a much needed optimism to the current dismal mood of fashion.

“We are a very serious high-end store,” said Borissova. “And coming out of a year when everything is so serious with the economy, everything in fashion has become so precise and calculated. Fun has been taken out of fashion. This project has brought a breath of fresh air.”

The collections were a hit and it is safe to say that Pucca did last night what she does best: Taking the hearts of many.

Pucca collections are sold exclusively at Curve.

This piece of news makes me really wanna be in New York City. It has been on my 'places to go before I die' list for the longest time and this is just cementing the fact that I need to be breathing in the NYC air one day. Not forgetting that I need to pay homage at the Pucca Theme Park in South Korea...

This is a hijacked post

This year's February 14th is a little different; Chinese New Year totally overshadowed Valentine's Day. As I drove down to Bun's hometown, I was expecting to be celebrating nothing but CNY. Much to my surprise, I received a lovely Valentine's gift. Totally unexpected and sweet. I have no picture to show because I am blogging from Bun's bro's laptop and hijacking the neighbour's WiFi. I'll try to upload it later if the little kid decided to keep his router switched on. I've been celebrating CNY at Bun's hometown for about three years now, if I remember correctly. It's very much different than the New Years that I celebrated while growing up. Here you'll see family members filling up every seat at the dinner table, at every meal. It's usually pretty mundane being in the city during CNY. So I come down here to spend time with Bun. I get much more angpao money whenever I'm around so I ain't complaining. I've been thinking it's getting unbearable to repeat the eat-sleep-watch tv routine by now, but just a minute ago I realised my holiday is coming to an end REALLY soon so I better bask in every second before I have to get back to work next week. It's time for dinner so, TATA!

He called me a whore

Sometimes I just want to stay up late at night to get a kick out of it. Always reminds me of how old I am now, compared to my midnight oil-burning marathons back in the university days. Have just finished editing pictures from Michelle's birthday dinner earlier. We had Korean BBQ and stayed on around Kuchai Lama for drinks at this cafe with an impossible name. Good thing about it is the decor's pretty well-done. Oh, and the waiter couldn't stop saying "thank you" to every order made. Before I left home for dinner, I had planned on not wanting to have bimbimbap and kimchi soup. I wanted to stop myself from ordering the same old thing. But it's as if fate had thought of a better plan. The telly was showing something about Korean food. Images of colourful bimbimbap and fiery red kimchi soup started to take over my mind. We ended up sharing one kimchi soup and I managed to refrain from overstuffing myself - by not ordering bimbimbap. I'm so proud of myself!

I think I'm gonna go blowdry my hair now and then crawl into bed. Pictures are uploaded onto Facebook and my job is done. While we're speaking about Facebook, I just found out there's a married couple on my list who are currently dealing with infidelity issues and possibly going through divorce. How did I find out? The husband has been calling out his wife on his status updates and in one of his comments, he was trying to be discreet by using French. Alas, Google Translate seem to have bestowed me the power of snooping around. I can't believe how bitchy a man can get. There is no indication of any sort on the wife's page. For me, it's irregardless who is wrong. What's important is your privacy. I don't get why people have this need to go tmi on Facebook. You're going through a really rough patch, we get it. Now stop plastering your personal issues all over the www. Think about your young daughters. They might find your page one day as reference material for their Psychology course project. On this note, I'd like to congratulate Mark Zuckerberg for a good job in creating a creature that satisfies the desires of severely ADD patients. Just so you know, this couple aren't the only ADD patients on my list. I must remember to not let myself turn into an ADD whore. My female ancestors and I already been called a whore earlier this week. I can't take it anymore!

Lusting over...

Sometimes you just daydream, having fantasies of spending all the riches in the world and suddenly you wake up realising it's nothing more than a yearning for materialistic possessions you can never afford. I'm having that quiet moment to myself right now. Sshhhh...

New Year's Eve Bling

It's new year's eve and I don't have plans to go out. Had earlier thoughts about going to watch "Sherlock Homes" but decided against the idea after thinking about the crowds and horrible traffic. Will sneak out for a quick session of window shopping though. Mr. Bun asked me out for dinner but I'm still undecided. Every place will be full and he's finishing work late. I'll see if my tummy calls for a feed later tonight. Have fun welcoming 2010, everybody!

Today: F21 jacket, white sparkly tank top, black shiny leggings, black velvet heels & giant silver stud ring

I wish for a golden new year

My favourite Korean

I know these gadgets aren't as cool as an iPhone, iPod or Blackberry, but I am dying to have them anyways! Any idea how and where I can get my hands on them? Lest you may think I have not thought about eBay yet, let me tell you now that I have. But those things are as unreliable as a free membership trial at your neighbourhood gym. If there is anyone travelling to China, Hong Kong or Korea anytime soon, you know what to get for me. I'll gladly pay!

Nine

Unfortunately my list of the 9 biggest things that I did in 2009 does not feature Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Sophia Loren and Fergie as the star-studded cast... but you'll have to bear with it. Here's hoping that memory does not fail me...

1) Planned a beach wedding that was not mine - One of my personal biggest achievements yet. There were some incidents in between the project that could've got me all jaded but thank goodness all the perseverance paid off in the end. Learnt how to ignore and not let incompetent bitches steal my thunder. Sometimes you gotta pity them since all they are good at is bringing other people down so they can make themselves look kinda useful. Also learnt a lesson for my future wedding: NEVER have it at the beach!

2) Quit my first job since graduation - It wasn't easy to walk away from a lovable team but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. It's great to have gained some excellent friends along the way. Now that's something you don't find everyday!

3) Joined the education industry - Not as a teacher, mind you. Still working in Marketing Communications but playing with a totally different game plan. It's been seven months now and I'm just finally getting a hang of things around here. I'm thankful it's a very new place and despite working alone, there is vast and undeniable space for growth. It helps that people here are really nice and genuine too. Sure there are gossips going around at times, but never the "backstabbing to get ahead" kind. Corporate vultures, take note. You might still have time to repent and kickstart a new lease on life. Just sayin'.

4) Became a bridesmaid for the first time - Swan Wui popped my bridesmaid cherry by asking me to be in her ji mui entourage for her wedding. I was apparently, made head honcho since I did a lot of bossing around. Can't blame me, I was born bossy and fussy. I decided all the girls should wear yellow during the tea ceremony, shopped for props that we made the heng dai entourage wear, made some of the props and somewhat organised the bachelorette night. Of course, there were lots of good friends who helped and I didn't do everything alone. I'm not Katherine Heigl from 29 Dresses. Could never be. The after-party proved how great the day went and everyone was beyond happy for the couple. Waiting for babies to come. I wonder if Swan Wui is capable of popping my baby shower cherry next...

5) Started developing lesbian fantasies - Only reserved for Lady Gaga though. LMAO. Seriously though, the Jason Mraz and Lady Gaga gigs were my first two live concert experiences and they were both unforgettable in their own ways. I was literally right in front of Mraz's mic and it was so surreal to catch him up close. How I would love to add the word "personal" into that sentence... I would've traded my mom for a closer view of Gaga, but who I am to beat the Singaporeans to the front row? But her gig was simply electric, despite having to wait over an hour and being squished to death by sweaty, jumping Singaporean teenage brats.

6) Started freelance writing - I've done similar things before but they were very scarce in my younger years and I never got to see them being produced. This year, the ball started rolling with a job that is now officially fucked up and I have disowned a "friend" due to her irresponsible and nonchalant behaviour in the entire incident. It could've costed my relationship with another friend but we are both victims and he's far too noble to put the blame on me. I'm no longer partaking in any activities or gatherings that she may attend, e.g. Christmas gathering this 26th December. Friends ask me why I'm not joining them and I just refuse to repeat the story again because I would seem so immature. What can I do? Force them to choose between me and her? That is so High School Musical. Anyhoo, thankfully something good did come out of a bad situation and I'm now shamelessly whoring my writing services to peeps who need copywriting for websites, press releases, newsletters, bla bla bla. Do email ashley.lsc@gmail.com for details.

7) Learnt how to drive - Tell me seven months ago that I would be driving and I'd tell you that you're outta your damn mind. I am now a certified terror on Malaysian roads, thanks to my lovely and patient boyfriend who stayed beside me while I was struggling to get used to getting behind the wheel, and allows me to drive his car everyday now. Tell you the truth, I wouldn't be arsed to learn how to drive if it wasn't for the desperation for transportation to my new workplace.

8) Wore a saree for the first time - Darshini popped my saree cherry for her big fat Indian wedding. I borrowed a beautiful purple saree from my colleague and Bebe's aunt helped us (Bebe, Deb and moi) frantically tie our sarees on the morning of Dar's wedding ceremony. Obviously, we were the frantic ones because we were absolutely clueless about tying sarees! But in the end she made us look GORGEOUS. Dar's wedding was a sight to behold. There she was, this Malaysian Indian bride with her lone white groom from England, surrounded by her family and relatives. Not forgetting (in Dar's own words) the Mao Ze Dong reformation army marching in behind the bride at the start of the ceremony and scattered all around for the rest of the day.

9) Sold my family's house - Technically it was my mom who sold our house, not me. But I was just trying to make a point. It's been hard for me lately. At times I'd be lying in bed, staring into space and find it weird to think that in a few months, another kid would be replacing my place in the same room. I've been told to get over it but it's kinda hard. I've been living here for about 10 years now. We haven't even found a new place yet. But I'll definitely be blogging from a new place sometime in 2010. Maybe I'll get over it by then. Before that, I'll make sure to blog about the massive amount of stuff that we need to move from point A to B. It's gonna be scary...

Now I wonder what's in store for 2010?

Living in sin is the new thing

I need to distant myself from any shoe-shopping activity for at least a few months from now. Totally busted my budget this month. Now imagine how it would have been if I had found out about the L'oreal Warehouse Sale earlier. I would so totally be eating grass during lunch time at work for the rest of 2009.

Been dragging Mr. Bun around shopping malls on my search for the perfect pair of booties. I saw this pair on the Charles & Keith website months ago and they have finally reached our shores. They're super fabulous but I decided against buying them because I know realistically that they're pretty hard to match with the clothes I have in my wardrobe. And what if I run into someone else who's wearing the exact same pair of shoes??! That would be pretty damn obvious at one look. So I'll just keep them in my thoughts, instead of my shoe cabinet.

I was dumb enough to think that I'll never find any other great pair of booties, so I settled with this black pair of Oxfords.

Just imagine the shock and horror I experienced when I walked into this Japanese-y fashion store and found this sexy pair! They were haunting me in my dreams and I had to go back the next day and buy them. I'm now a happy (and broke) girl.

Not forgetting the pink flip-flops I've been wanting for the longest time. I kinda ruined them by ripping off the label from the straps but nobody's going to notice anyway.

..............................................................................................................................................

On the fateful day of me not knowing about the L'oreal Warehouse Sale, I went to watch Ninja Assassin with Mr. Bun, Tze Chin and Ah Sao. You see, Mr. Bun had told me that he really wanted to watch 2012 and Ninja Asssassin (because he loves movies with lots of action, blood and gore) but I refused to accompany him (because I'm a selfish girlfriend). I got free tickets for 2012 from shopping at CHIC Pop but I ended up donating them as Old Man Greg's (colleague from the office) birthday gift. I finally agreed to watch Ninja Assassin because I saw a snippet of the movie while watching TV the other day and dayum, that guy is scorching hawt!!

I've always not paid attention to Rain because I thought all he could do to be famous was showing off his abs. But this movie had me going gaga over Rain. But I must say his face is still kinda fugly. It's even worse now since he lost so much weight training for the role. I'm thankful for the abs though *drools* I found a picture which showed his transformation over the months and homeboy is looking good! Check out those muscle definitions!! (Images are totally ripped off from the net)

My favourite scenes were of him half naked (obviously!), training in an apartment in Berlin. The topless scenes towards the end of the movie were not too good because of the overly disgusting battle scars. Mr. Bun had to turn over and smack me in the head whenever any Rain's topless scenes came on. I felt there weren't enough of them. Mr. Bun said Rain was topless for 80% of the entire movie and if there were more, it probably would've turned into a porno. Now, that would be something I'd like to watch.

He did train really, really hard for the role and he was saying in an interview that all he had to eat for a few months was boiled chicken breast and egg white. I guess beauty is pain. He had to give up kimchi for a few months but he's earned much fascination from girls and gayboys so was it all worth it? I say yes!!

Hey sexy, let me make it better for ya. I hereby announce Rain as Obsession of the Month!!!

Flavours of the night

I love love love night markets, or more affectionately known as pasar malam. My favourite is at Seri Petaling on Tuesday nights for two reasons. Firstly, adorable animal paos. Lastly, the world's best salted chicken. I just found out that the one here at Serdang has both the same stalls, which means I no longer have to drive all the way to Seri Petaling, nor having to endure the horrible smell of stinky fermented tofu there. Now I don't even have to choose between Seri Petaling and Section 17 on Tuesdays anymore (world's best asam laksa at Section 17!!!!)

Meet Bunny, Hello Kitty, Piggy, Hedgehog and Pumpkin in their assorted glory!

Don't be fooled by its simple looks. It is the most delicious, juicy and flavourful salted chicken that you can ever find. Other stalls may sell salted chicken that looks just like this, but they can only try and fail to achieve the same level of tastiness. Excuse me while I go ahead and feast on my piece of chicken. I can't type with greasy hands. omnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnom

Counting my blessings

Human beings are one big bunch of spoiled brats in the mammal kingdom. That stands as a fact no matter how hard we try to redeem ourselves or sink further in denial. In case if you're wondering if I'm going to launch into a tirade against global warming and such, the answer is simply a "no".

Today could've been just another Monday where I join the rest of my Facebooking friends and update my status as "Ashley Liew is having Monday blues". But I am choosing not to. Before you judge me, I am not declaring myself as being more intellectually advanced than the rest of you folks. I just feel like I should be counting my blessings instead of bitching and moaning about being stuck in the office.

I had visited a friend yesterday and came home happy. She is fighting an ailment but I am happy for her because I can see that she is doing so with much love and support. I am glad that she is not feeling lost and alone. Somewhere tucked within a corner of my cold black heart, lies a tiny spark of fear that I can never see her again nor have the chance to share my nonsensical warblings to one of the few people who actually gets me. This is starting to sound selfish because once again I managed to make it all about me. But I sincerely hope that she gets through these trying times.

A colleague had been away from work for more than a month now. Her father is diagnosed with cancer and she immediately flew home to Philippines to care for him and be with her family. One can only admire such love and dedication from a caring daughter. I tried to contact her earlier but I guess her priorities were at the right place in the beginning. I just heard from her this morning, and I am touched by the fact that that she still manages to tell me to take care and say that she misses KL. I wonder where she got this super human strength to stay positive.

My thoughts and prayers are with these two beautiful women and the people who love them. I wouldn't be of any help at this moment but that's the least I can do. I think I'm gonna press the pause button on procrastination today and finish my workload. I shouldn't be wasting away by moping around when there are people who are so kind and trusting to give me chances in life.

tmi

In this universe, there is always two sides to everything; black & white, left & right, up & down, Friendster & Fiendster... You get the idea. What I'm trying to say is, what is really huge and popular right now also has haters who dedicate their time and energy to mock its popularity. I'm sure there are also tons of websites out there dedicated to mocking the current "it" social networking site, Facebook. I've read through one once, but for the life of me, I couldn't remember the webpage. This particular one that I read has posts on the silliest and most entertaining Facebook statuses.
